One can make prearrangements for themself or for someone else, normally a family member. The prearrangements can be "Information Only" or can be "Prepaid". "Information Only" prearrangements consists of recording one's preferences for:
Obituary Information
Chapel, Church Or Graveside Service
Viewing
Music, Religious Passages, Or Poetry Selections To Use During Service
Casket Or Cremation Container
Final Disposition (Burial Or Cremation)
Cemetery Burial Vault Or Urn
Memorial Donations
Prearrangements that are "Prepaid" consist of the above information AND the setting aside of financial resources to be used at the time of death. These resources can be placed in a funeral trust account or placed in a "Pay-on-Death" account at your bank.
Unless applying for Medi-Cal, or there is a lack of any ability to pay funeral expenses, we LIKE AARP do not recommend prepaying, but we do recommend recording your wishes in advance.
Each person's situation is different...without any obligation, we can review your specific circumstances and make recommendations.
If you have already made prearrangements, we can assist in transferring them to our mortuary.
