Darian Marie Miller
(May 15, 1945 - Jan 31,2010)
Darian was born to Donna and Eugene Holznagel in Minneapolis, MN. She followed her son Billy to be with Christ after complications due to cardiac arrest. She passed early Sunday morning surrounded by her children and husband at a Tualatin hospital.
She met her husband William Miller in 1964 and married within a year. They remained together ever since. They raised four children in Minneapolis, Mitchell SD, Coos Bay, Federal Way WA, and Bothell WA before settling in West Linn. Darian and William ran a store called Miller Drug in West Linn for fifteen years; closing it in 91. She braved the loss of her first son in 1980 as well as a bout with polio early in her marriage.
Darian lived a balance of spirituality, wisdom , and compassion. She loved reading and was comfortable with more turgid prose that would confuse others. She traveled to Israel, as well as Assisi and Lourdes in France to see the Catholic holy sights. Darian created a number of paintings over the years. Usually they were of snowy fields, brooks, and meadows: quiet places.
She is survived by her husband, her children Nicole, Tara, and Brendon and her siblings Mark, Lynn, Jeff, Karl, and Karla.
A memorial rosary and mass will be held at 11 AM at St Philip Benizi Catholic Church 18211 S. Henrici Rd. Oregon City on Monday the 8th. There will also be a viewing at Holman-Hankins-Bowker & Waud 715 7th St. Oregon City on the 4th and 5th from 1 to 5 PM.
