Milton Moffett Ashby, Jr. 92 of Marshall, VA died on Dec. 11, 2009 at Blue Ridge Christian Home, Bealeton.
He was born on October 9, 1917 in Fauquier County a son of the late Milton Moffett Ashby, Sr. and Florence Louise Parr Ashby. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Smith Ashby and a son, James Moffett Ashby.
Mr. Ashby retired from the U. S. Department of Agriculture as a livestock inspector. He was a longtime member of The Freestate Ramblers playing the guitar. He was a member of the Mt. Carmel Masonic Lodge in Warrenton and Cochran Masonic Lodge in The Plains.
He is survived by two sons- Richard G. Ashby and David R. Ashby both of Marshall, VA; four grandchildren- Kimberly Green, Stephanie Kondis, Scott and Stuart Ashby; seven great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 15 at 3:00 PM at Moser Funeral Home, Warrenton. Interment will be private in the Warrenton Cemetery.
