JEWKES, DOROTHY M.-Of Malden, died on December 10, 2009 after a long illness. She was 87. Beloved daughter of the late Benjamin and Lucy (Fitzpatrick) Jewkes. She was pre-deceased by 5 loving sisters and 1 loving brother. Loving aunt of Jane Cook of Beverly, Priscilla Thain of Madison, WI, Natalie and Cynthia Needle of Swampscott, Helen Muzerall of Seabrook, NH, Lucy Lyons of CT, and Benjamin Jewkes of NH. She is also survived by 10 dear great nieces and nephews, and 2 dear great grandnephews.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a funeral from the J.F. Ward Funeral Home, 772 Broadway, Everett, on Monday, Dec 14th., at 9 am, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary of The Assumption Church, 670 Washington Ave., Revere, at 10 am. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4 pm. Services will conclude with interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. Dorothy was a retired longtime registered nurse and 1944 graduate at Boston City Hospital. She also worked for Mass General Hospital later in her career. In her memory donations may be made to Kaplan Family Hospice House, 78 Liberty St., Danvers, MA 01923.
